If you're getting big tax refunds, you may be overpaying your federal income taxes. While you may be withholding more tax than necessary as a means of forced savings, there are better ways to automatically save – especially since you don't earn interest on the amount you overwithhold.

ALERT: Cashier’s Check Scam
 
There is currently a Cashier’s Check scam affecting both KEMBA members and non-members. This is a mail scam in which recipients receive a mailer that appears to be coming from one of four companies: Dominion Investments, Birmingham Securities, Gold Link Securities, or Tampa Green Consultants. The mailer claims that recipients have won a sweepstakes, bonanza, or lottery. The sender of these fraudulent checks is requiring that the recipient pay taxes on their winnings via Western Union before claiming their “prize winnings.” These fraudulent Cashier’s Checks have KEMBA’s name, logo, and address on them, but they are not from KEMBA. DO NOT attempt to cash these checks.
 
Please be aware that we are working with the authorities on this matter. If you’re faced with a situation that looks anything like this, please DO NOT cash the check, and contact KEMBA Financial Credit Union immediately at 614.235.2395 or 800.282.6420, option 4.
