Online or Mobile Banking Conveniences

The digitization of banking, also known as mobile or online banking, has been an ongoing process over the last ten years – and with changes in technology, the best of mobile banking is yet to come. Online and mobile banking puts access to your bank account(s) a few clicks away either from a desktop/laptop computer or a mobile device.

What is Online and Mobile Banking?

Online banking is the product of integrating your credit union or bank with the internet. Mobile banking is a compliment to online banking, where you access your accounts through an app on your smartphone or tablet, instead of a traditional web browser. Online/mobile banking makes it quick and easy to do things like check your balances, pay your bills with online bill payment, as well as make mobile deposits in some cases.

Why Should You Use Online Banking?

Online and mobile banking are convenient, it can save you both the time and headache of going to a physical branch or making a call. With most credit unions and banks, you no longer have to go to a branch to deposit a check. With mobile banking, you can open your bank’s app, snap a couple of pictures of your check, and funds will be available in your account in as little as a few minutes. Not to mention, with instant access to your finances, you can keep an eye out for fraudulent charges 24 hours a day!

What is a Mobile Wallet?

Mobile Wallet is somewhat of a recent development in the world of mobile banking. Mobile Wallet allows you to use your credit or debit card, without physically pulling them out of your wallet. With apps like Google Pay and Apple Pay, you can store your credit cards in your phone and pay for your groceries with the swipe of a finger. Using your Mobile Wallet is easy – simply open the app, select the card and scan it over the payment terminal (be sure that the vendor accepts mobile payments first).

In addition to accessing your bank online, Mobile and Online Banking also provide access to valuable account information such as month-end banking statements, tax documents, and more.
